A long absence .......

Those of you that follow my art outside of my Facebook page may have noticed a lag in posts in latter 2013....

My amazing mother, Maureen, came to live with us in Floyd last April of 2013. After a long battle with a chronic disease, Mother passed the week of Christmas this past year.

It's freeing and depressing all at the same time. But, I have amazing studio work in play now, and every drop of paint, it seems, isn't getting wasted. This new rebirth of spring is bringing me very productive days painting on location. I am truly blessed.

My recent trip to Bath County, VA, and painting week at Nimrod Hall, proved VERY fruitful.  I am very excited at the evolution of my style, and the lack of fear I seem to now possess - trying anything and realizing that you can't learn new things unless you do.

As  my schedule this season,  I will be kicking things off with my Open Studio Tour in Floyd, VA this coming weekend, July 13-15th. Check out www.floydartisantrail.org for more details!  I've been asked to show my work in and around the NRV this summer, and I will be participating in two open art sales/shows this coming Fall.  I will post a complete listing on the right column of the blog.

I am energized and looking forward to reconnecting with my followers this painting season!

Wishing you creativity!
